Geometry, graffiti, and gaming: Inside BGaming’s collaboration with Tim Marsh
BGaming has just unveiled our final art and gaming mash-up for 2024, as part of our ongoing project “When Art Meets Gaming.” This time, we’ve teamed up with half-Maltese artist Tim Marsh, whose distinctive style combines dynamic geometric forms, patterns, and lines. Ahead of BGaming’s participation at SiGMA Europe in Malta, Marsh has brought some of the studio's most beloved game characters to life, including those from popular titles like Wild Tiger, Book of Cats MEGAWAYS™, Elvis Frog TRUEWAYS™, Aztec Magic Bonanza, and Gold Rush - Johnny Cash.
Tim Marsh is a perfect fit for this collaboration, known for his unique artistic flair that draws inspiration from his practice of capoeira, a Brazilian martial art. He has developed a personal style filled with bold shapes and movement, much like the lively and colorful world of BGaming’s slot games.
I found this work quite unexpected as I am used to working on murals and live paintings. This was a different exercise from what I’m used to but to be working from a computer and not fighting the elements was enjoyable. Only a few days before, I had been struggling to finish a wall in the Parisian rain. I am used to taking inspiration from hand painting artwork in real life, so this presented a welcome and unique challenge for me.
Tim Marsh’s love for street culture took root in his early years of skating and sketching. At 17, he delved into graffiti, but turning it into a career wasn’t easy. In 2006, he entered the fashion industry, designing for top brands and working as creative director for Snatch Magazine, where he honed his eye for detail and limited-edition wearable art. Eventually, Marsh returned to his true passion — graffiti — and shifted his focus entirely to painting.
Today, Marsh lives the dream of making a living doing what he loves, describing it as “one of the very best feelings one can get.” His art, which blends dynamic geometric shapes and tribal influences from his capoeira practice, is instantly recognizable. His pieces, whether on walls, canvases, skateboards, or clothing, are full of vibrant movement, bright colors, and intricate patterns.
Marsh’s versatility and distinctive style have attracted high-profile clients like L’Oreal, Kenzo, and Smart cars. He’s not limited to street art — his creations span multiple mediums, from painting on wooden objects to surfboards. Always pushing the boundaries of where his art can go, Marsh continuously experiments with new techniques and materials, using everything from tape and stencils to acrylics.
His work has been showcased globally, with appearances at prestigious exhibitions and festivals. He has participated in 13 group shows, 15 solo exhibitions, and 17 festivals in cities like Paris, Hong Kong, and Barcelona. Festivals like Urban Pictus in Prague, IPAF Capetown in South Africa, Upfest Bristol in the UK, and Malta Street Art Festival have also featured his work, solidifying his place in the global art scene.
Marsh’s fearless dedication to his craft has made him a sought-after artist, and now, his unique style is being introduced to the world of iGaming through this awesome collaboration with BGaming.
